The International Day of Persons with Disabilities arrives Tuesday, it could very well be the most important in its 27-year history
Perhaps, and more to the point, there is an urgent need to come up with creative ways to put tangible outcomes to move what the day stands for forward.
If not, the ride-the-ferris-wheel syndrome will continue. You know the feeling: going around and around for a specific period of time, but not moving forward.
So we need to seriously ask ourselves — do we want this carnival-like event to continue with the understanding, and accept, it is that … or, do we hunker down, go to work, think way out of the box and do some really cool stuff?
The timing is now.
